Cardiology care

Services

Heart Clinic provides specialist cardiology care between your GP and the hospital. When you have symptoms, need a check-up or have questions about your heart, we take the time to assess carefully what is needed.

The practice works with the surrounding hospitals. If further testing or referral is needed, we explain clearly what the next step is.

What can you come to us for?

You can come to Heart Clinic for examination, treatment, check-ups and advice for cardiovascular disease.

  • Diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
  • Preventive cardiology, for example an annual check-up.
  • Attention to the women’s heart.
  • Cardiological advice for sport and scuba diving.
  • Guidance during hospital admissions.
  • Home visits for follow-up checks, including heart failure care.

Symptoms for which a check-up may be wise

A cardiological check-up may be wise in case of chest pain or pressure, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting or unexplained fatigue.

If you are unsure about symptoms, have a family history of heart disease or have an increased cardiovascular risk, discuss this with your GP. If necessary, they can refer you to us.

In case of acute, severe or rapidly increasing symptoms, contact local emergency care immediately.

Depending on your symptoms and medical history, a consultation can be supplemented with one or more examinations.

  • ECG

  • Exercise test
  • Holter: 24- to 48-hour rhythm registration

Within general cardiology care, we pay extra attention to several subjects.

“I haven't been feeling well for a while and had some doubts about the condition of my heart, which runs in our family too. I had a very good, reassuring conversation and Dr. de Vaan's advice was very helpful.”
